On May 14, it was learned from the Ministry of Commerce that according to the Executive Order issued by the White House on May 12 to amend the reciprocal Tariff rate to reflect the talks with the People's Republic of China, the US side had already: at 00:00 Eastern Time on May 14 01 Revoke the total 91% tariffs imposed on Chinese goods (including goods from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region) in accordance with Executive Orders No. 14259 of April 8, 2025 and No. 14266 of April 9, 2025 Amend the 34% equivalent tariff measures imposed on Chinese goods (including those from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region) by Executive Order No. 14257 of April 2, 2025. Among them, 24% of the tariffs will be suspended for 90 days, while the remaining 10% will be retained.
Meanwhile, the US side has also reduced or withdrawn the tariffs imposed on small parcels from China (including those from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), lowered the AD valorem rate for international mail from 120% to 54%, and withdrawn the measure originally scheduled to increase the AD valorem rate from $100 to $200 per parcel as of June 1, 2025.
In view of the fact that the US side has revoked, suspended or adjusted the relevant additional tariffs imposed on China in accordance with the consensus reached at the high-level economic and trade talks between China and the US, China has accordingly adjusted the relevant tariff and non-tariff countermeasures against the US.
